Fake security pop ups often appear while browsing the web. Sometimes they appear when visiting a legitimate website through the ad servers on the site. They can also come from links in Posts placed on social media platforms. The important thing to remember is NEVER call or follow any instructions from these alerts.
No matter what it says you only contact me. These alerts are just like phishing emails, they are designed to trigger panic and make you stop thinking. They often have siren sounds with a message saying to call this number immediately. The goal is to get you on the phone. Once on the line they will tell you it's a critical issue and send you a link to gain access to your system.
Never fall for these types of alerts, whether they say it's your computer, or your bank account - stop, slow down and think.
